Welcome back! We're so happy to have you back on board for our 2nd All-Stars edition! We're honored and excited that you are here to play again and we can't wait to see how you do this time around. However, we're also dying to know what your thoughts are coming into the game and with this being an All-Star season, we're expecting you to really step it up and go all-out in your DR. What better way to start than to have some Pre-Game questions to answer while we wait for the game to begin?
1. Do you have a set strategy coming into the game? If so, what it is?
2. Since this is an All-Star game, do you know anyone coming into it? What is your relationship like with each of those people? Friends? Rivals? Also, if you do know anyone, do you plan on working with them at all?
3. Is there anyone that you don't think really deserves to be here? Why or why not?
4. What is something that you would like to correct since the last time you've played? Are you worried that your reputation from your previous season could hurt you coming into this?
5. Do you have what it takes to win this game?
6. Any final comments before the game begins?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer these questions! If you have any further comments or concerns, please contact a Main Staff member and we'll try our best to promptly help you. Best of luck as you venture into the game!
1. Do you have a set strategy coming into the game? If so, what it is?
I don't really have a set strategy coming into this game. I think that in a game of this size, with a cast of this caliber, and being cast with so many friends, how can you have a single strategy? And I know to anticipate twists, too. There are going to be lots of them; they'll probably be reflective of the twists of seasons 6-10. I think that everyone is expecting there to be 3 houses of 9 players, and I'm waiting to see those houses before I develop a specific strategy. But I think that thought process represents how I'll handle this game. I need to see the twist and what's going on each week, then I'll react. I don't know if I'll throw competitions, or make big moves, or what. It'll just depend on what I feel I should do at the time.
For those of you that don't know, I just played in an all-star game that was pretty similar to this one! Anyway, I have a general lesson-learned. I'm not throwing away any relationships, or taking any person for granted. Last game, I let people go, or didn't try to work on certain new relationships with people who were long for the game. I'm hoping I can be more savvy in my bond-building and choose my battles more wisely in this game.
2. Since this is an All-Star game, do you know anyone coming into it? What is your relationship like with each of those people? Friends? Rivals? Also, if you do know anyone, do you plan on working with them at all?
I do know quite a few people coming into this game! I've just been around the block and back in ProBoards games, and it's hard to ignore that you know people. Let's see if I can break down this cast:
People I won't turn on: Casey, Heather, Matt
People I really want to work with, but may turn on: Nick, Zach
People that I like, but have spotty game history with: Ash, Ika, Mike, Nicole, Rachelle
People who I think may target me: Heaven, Ryan, Sofia
People who I'm meeting this game, and like quite a bit: Boog, Brittany, Danielle
I don't know her: Brian, Hayley, Luisa, Russell
3. Is there anyone that you don't think really deserves to be here? Why or why not?
I could've given you a lot of answers to this question initially, but after seeing the replacements, it's just those 3. Even against people who were not very significant, but were initially named all-stars, the 3 replacements don't compare. Brian, Luisa, and Russell don't deserve to be here, and I think they're way out of their league. Any of them could make it far, but make a dent in the game? No. They're like, extra.
4. What is something that you would like to correct since the last time you've played? Are you worried that your reputation from your previous season could hurt you coming into this?
I think that last season, I put all my eggs in one basket. I thought Rachelle and I would ride the game to the end, and she had a different agenda. And it's fine. I'm definitely over it, and I am willing to work with Rachelle.
My problem last season was that I never had a contingency plan. I had very little backup when Rachelle turned on me. Although I had Craig and Christine considering saving me, I didn't have enough laid out in advance to save myself. This game, I want more secondary and tertiary plans.
In terms of my reputation from season 9, I don't think it's too strong. I think people know me as a player, and that's how they're going base their decisions. I did well in competitions in my season, but there are bigger fish to fry here. I'm definitely a second-class competitor in comparison. I'll be surprised if I win much of anything with some of these people around.
5. Do you have what it takes to win this game?
I don't know. I haven't won in a long time, and I've been reflecting on why I continually get 5th - 8th place in games. I can't figure it out. I'm usually a threat to win the game, but I just can't close it up. So, I don't know if I have what it takes. I'm just going to do what I feel I need to do each week and see how it goes. If I somehow win, great! Even though I'll be giving it my all, I don't really think that I will win.
6. Any final comments before the game begins?
I feel personally honored that y'all included a Mariah GIF in the smiley bin. Love it. Yas. ANTM. Werk.
How come you won't turn on Casey, Heather and Matt?
I suppose that I could if the situation called for it but it'sd have to be pretty extreme. It's honestly just a friendship / emotional thing. Lame ik but gamebot is boring.
